La presse en parle… Millésime 2021 – Château Domeyne

Château Domeyne 2021 – Saint-Estèphe

  • 90-92 – VINOUS (Neal Martin)
The 2021 Domeyne has a nively focused, ripe blackberry and raspberry coulis nose, violet petals emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, and very lithe and smooth, though it manages to avoid being cloying on the finish. This should turn out to be very seductive. Worth looking out for.
  • 91-92 – RVF (Olivier Poels)
Un vin de grand raffinement, avec une bouche tout en éclat et en souplesse. Le fruit demeure lumineux et l’élevage se fond parfaitement.
  • 90 – FALSTAFF (Peter Moser)
Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Frische Herzkirschen, zart mit roten Beeren unterlegt, feines Nougat, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, elegant, zarte Fruchtsüsse, feine Tannine, angenehme Frische, bleibt haften, ein vielseitiger, eleganter Speisenbegleiter.
  • 93 – FORBES (Tom Mullen)
Rich aromas of oak, earth, persimmons and cocoa. A light, graceful and balanced wine with a mid-palate of mint and red cherries. Sound tannins and sleek acidity.
  • 90 – DECANTER (Georgina Hindle)
Supple and generous on the palate, this has a gorgeous smooth texture, so lively and juicy but with excellent acidity so it’s not too sharp or severe. I really like this, it’s very complete – lightly framed, but delivering such an approachable easy-to-enjoy glass of wine. Refined, classy with a powdery texture and just the right support and grip with elements of dark chocolate too. I love it! Eric Boissenot consultant.
  • 87 – Inside Bordeaux (Jane Anson)
A little tart in its fruit structure, expect currant and gooseberry alongside sweeter red cherry and raspberry, this is cheerful and bright with a firm tannic structure and juice on the finish. Early to medium term drinking. 40hl/ha yield, 50% 1st wine, 20% new oak, 9 ha of clay gravel soils owned by Vincent Ginestet. Eric Boissenot consultant.
  • 90-91 – XL VINS (Xavier Lacombe)
