La presse en parle… Millésime 2022 – Château Domeyne

Château Domeyne 2022 – Saint-Estèphe

  • 92-94 – RVF (Olivier Poels)
Nous suivons de près l’évolution de cette propriété qui signe un 2022 de haute volée. Le vin est plein, dense, mais surtout très équilibré et soyeux dans l’expression de ses tanins. Tout est en place.
  • 93-94 – James Suckling
Fresh and juicy with dark and blue fruit, sweet spices and walnuts. Refined and polished with a medium body and silky texture at the end.
  • 92-93 – Bernard Burtschy
  • 90-92 – Alexandre Ma
Château Domeyne 2022 is one of the best wines I’ve had. It has a smooth texture, fragrant aroma, and a nice balance of tannins. The wine is full-bodied and has a crisp, lively feel, with plump hawthorn berries and red cherries. It’s an excellent wine and I can’t wait to try it again in the future.
  • 90 – Markus del Monego, MW (Tastingbook)
Intense purple colour with violet hue and black core. Open nose with ripe dark berries and discreet toasting. On the palate rather medium bodied with ripe yet firm tannins, discreet fruit and hints of mild spices.
  • 91 – Jane Anson (Bordeaux Inside)
This has more light in between the fruit character, with black pepper and iron filings on the finish giving a pretty heavy kick on the finish. Crushed rose petals on the aromatics add complexity, this is charming. First year new cellars. Vincent Ginestet owner since 2018.
  • 90 – The Wine Doctor (Chris Kissack)
This presents some lightly dried fruits on the nose, with a layer of toasted oak over the top, which lends the aromatic profile a rather diffuse, soft-focus style. The palate shows a modest sweetness, with blackberry and red cherry fruits, a little more precise than the aromatics suggested, with a ripe core of tannins and a juicy middle. It all comes wrapped in ribbons of leather and toast from the oak, before a finish of ripe and tightly grained tannins. This holds together well, and could give good drinking. Let’s see after the élevage.
  • 91 – Georgie Hindle (Decanter)
Lively and sleek, a nice push of bright and crystalline red fruits with soft liquorice and tobacco spice underpinned by bright acidity. Well worked, so easy to approach with a sleekness and refinement. Gentle but lots to like. Eric Boissenot consultant.
  • 93 – Xavier Lacombes (XL Vins)
  • 88-90 – Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent)
The 2022 Domeyne is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of blackcurrants, juicy black plums, and fresh blueberries leap from the glass with hints of licorice, bay leaves, and lavender. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant and refreshing, with approachably soft tannins and an appealing lift on the finish.
